MoScow - BerLin - PaRis, Train

It is finally here, for those of you who are scared of flying, there is a new train that runs from Moscow to Paris, with a short layover in Berlin. We have only managed to come up with three reasons for why anyone would want to make this thirty-eight hour journey, 1. a passion for trains, 2. a private escape or 3. a phobia of flying.
After a journey of over 3,177 kilometers (1,974 miles) across five countries, the first Moscow-Paris trained arrived on Tuesday, March 13 at Paris Gare de l’est. The train completed the second largest route in the continent, after the first largest route opened last year from Moscow to Nice.
This route was previously in existence during the soviet era, but was subsequently closed due to financial troubles in the early 1990’s. Nearly two decades later, the train is back in action.
Now, a single train of 185 seats will make the connection three times a week in winter and five times in the summer. Depending on the class, the seats cost between € 330 to € 1,050 for a ticket, ranging from luxury, first to second class.
Passengers who got on the train in Moscow Monday morning were greeted with champagne and the red carpet treatment on track 27 this past Tuesday.
If you have not booked your tickets yet, fans will have to wait until 2012 to make the journey. Every ticket has been sold until the end of the year.
