Dream Downtown, New York

Could there possibly be a more appropriate name for such a swanky hotel, in the city that makes the world fantasize of a better, more grandiose lifestyle? Dream Downtown is the new hotel many have been buzzing about in lower Manhattan.

Housed in a 1960’s building designed by Albert C. Ledner, Dream is the newest addition to the Vikram Chatwal Hotel family. Located between the thriving art, design and fashion scenes of Chelsea and the Meatpacking District, the place exudes contemporary elegance with little room for modesty.

After a $270 million renovation, the 190,000 square-foot property now boasts 316 loft inspired guestrooms, a rooftop lounge called PH-D with stunning views of New York City’s skyline and an area entitled the “Beach” with an open air pool. The Beach has actual sand with white and navy lounge chairs, a pool bar and restaurant.

Some have described it as Barcelona meets Miami, albeit without the tacky neon colors. After all, it is New York.

Be prepared to mingle with popular international DJs, models on questionable escapades and all around first adopters.
