Zikmu Speakers by Philippe Starck

Designer Phillippe Starck has created a pair of plush stereo speakers for Parrot, a French technology company specializing in wireless devices.

The Zikmu Speakers debuted at MacWorld, but it reached a level of notoriety when it received the Bluetooth CIG’s “Best of Show” award at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES), in Las Vegas this January 11th, 2009.

The speakers are two sleek matching black columns with flared bases. On top of the system is an iPod loading dock, with wireless capability for both a PC or Mac.

Their striking simplicity along with their high-tech functionalities and their beautiful sharp lines will be irresistible for Starck’s most devoted followers, but anyone with a good eye for design can appreciate these qualities.

The speakers will go on sale this spring.
