LaCie, the computer hardware company specializing in external hard drives, has recently teamed up with renowned designer Philippe Starck to create the LaCie Starck Mobile Hard Drive.

The hard drive has a capacity of 320 to 500 GB and an embedded USB 2.0 cable. It is protected by a beautifully designed 2mm aluminum casing that keeps the system from spills, drops, and overheating. Since its release, the LaCie Starck has been popular with design conscience consumers. Techies have criticized the emphasis on design and its price.

While it may not be the most utilitarian friendly hard drive in the market, at 355 grams weighing nearly twice as much as the competition, one can surely appreciate its regal gray finish and well thought-out design.
