Roberto Bolle, Milan

Roberto Bolle has starred in many notable ballets, like Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Giselle, and Cinderella. He has danced for world class ballet groups including the Royal Ballet, Tokyo Ballet, and the National Ballet of Canada.

As a dancer, Mr. Bolle has had an unprecedented career and great personal achievements. He has danced for the likes of Queen Elizabeth II and Pope John Paul II and has appeared on numerous newspapers, fashion and style magazines with rave reviews on his near flawless performances.

Many have compared his rise and stage presence to that of George Balanchine, Rudolf Nureyev, and Mikhail Baryshnikov.

Since 1999, Mr. Bolle has served as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF. He has also been an active supporter of the environment by working with the nonprofit conservation group the Italian Fund for the Environment, or FAI.

It is his success as a Primo Ballerino, his passion for ballet, and his work off the stage that makes Mr. Bolle one of our favorite people of 2008.

This October 1 through November 2009, Mr. Bolle will be back at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan performing a long roster of the great ballets. Have you picked up your tickets yet?
