Seeds of Peace 2009 Peace Market
This February 19th, 2009, the Peace Market will celebrate its 11th anniversary and will draw a crowd of around 1,000 affluent, young, professional New Yorkers from various industries, ethnicities and religions as well as a plethora of celebrities, elected officials, and media attention. The venue is Cipriani Wall Street, New York City.
The Peace Market is an annual event to raise funds for the Seeds of Peace camp. Founded in 1993, Seeds of Peace is an international youth organization that brings together youth from conflict regions to discuss coexistence and conflict resolution.
The event is hosted by the Young Leadership Committee, a dynamic group of peace- minded young professionals committed to supporting the mission of Seeds of Peace and empowering the next generation of leaders. This year’s Honorary Chair will be Ms. Ivanka Trump.
In previous years, the event has hosted speakers such as former President Bill Clinton, CNN International Correspondent Christiane Amanpour and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. A number of celebrities have also shown their support from Robert De Niro, Claire Danes, to Bar Refaeli.
