Le Silencio by David Lynch, Paris

Le Silencio by David Lynch, Paris

Named after the bar where Naomi Watts found herself in Mullholland Drive, Le Silencio is David Lynch’s newest creation in Paris. It is an ultra private and a bit mysterious place. Lynch loves Paris, where he works often from his studio in Montparnasse, and he wanted to create a very personalized club where everything was designed to his taste.

Difficult to identify, guests enter through heavy black doors with a discrete sign. They go down a set of stairs into a second basement to get to a row of cellars lined with gold leaf. As they continue into the club they will pass a stoic library next to a golden bar built on top the historic Eiffel metal structures.

The concert stage is surrounded by a black and gold arc and the dance floor, where bands like Yuksek (pictured above) play the night away. It looks typical of a Hollywood movie scene.

Le Silencio is not only a club for chic music, dance and exotic drinks. It also includes a fully occupied projection room, with 24 seats operated by MK2. There is a smoking room filled with vertical rods lit fiber and a grand bathroom with playful mirrors that neatly accompany the atmosphere.

All of the decorative elements, particularly the furniture, were designed according to Lynch and developed by Domeau & Pérès. A great deal of geometric shapes and muted colors were used to create the seating arrangements. Click here to see the “Wire,” one of the chairs designed by Lynch.

Annual membership to Silencio is strictly personal and non-transferable, so each application is considered very carefully.
