TO HEEL OR NOT TO HEEL?

TO HEEL OR NOT TO HEEL?

For decades the feet of women have been abused by high heels. These man-made items of juxtaposition torture and flatter the feet at the same time. This year the torture devices upped their game by adding on inches and platforms and pronouncing a slimmer heel.

Usually standard high heels fall within the three to four inch range. This year this range describes flats. The common high heel visible on legs parading the streets of London falls in the parameters of six to seven inches. Celebrities fuel this insanity by subscribing to higher and more outrageous, not to mention dangerous versions of the shoe.

Not to naysay, the necessity of these fashion implements. The high heel has a much deserved place in the woman’s fashion arsenal, but must it really turn to bite the hand? Surely, as the primary consumer women can scale back on what is worthy of their feet and not be dragged into the Choo/Blahnik/Louboutin Heel War.

There is no denying the beauty of a woman’s calf when extended by high heels that said, women should take back their power. The high heel was created to assist women in tempting men not just podiatrists. So maybe the next time a tall drink of eight inch heels beckon at you from the showroom, think of how many pounds (or dollars) you are willing to share with the podiatrist after you’ve quenched your thirst.
