Jeremy Scott + Adidas
He is one of the most famous names in fashion and yet he still manages to stay under the radar as he focuses on creating innovative designs for the next generation.
Jeremy Scott does not spend too much time recreating modern versions of items and themes already done. John Lennon stated “Once a thing’s been done it’s been done… looking backwards for inspiration, copying the past… how’s that rock ‘n’ roll?” When it comes to contemporary fashion, Scott seems to be creating his own genre of rock ‘n’ roll.
Scott has found the right balance between eccentric, somewhat outrageous, and wearable designs that are fun, and clearly state “I’m here for a good time.” He is one of those rare designers whose creations immediately end up on the “must-have” list of fashion’s early adopters who understand the genius behind his designs.
Many define him as a pop-culture icon, mostly because of his numerous collaborations with celebrities and pop divas, but look beyond the façade and you will find his ingenuity carefully paving the future of fashion.
Scott’s recent collaboration with Adidas is one of the best pairings of sportswear juggernauts in the last year. The two have proven that it is possible to create a whole collection of unique pieces, bursting with stunning colors, fabrics and patterns that push the line on casual sportswear.
Scott + Adidas’ A/W 11/12 is all about animal prints, army motifs and vibrant colors on top of more colors. Scott takes a black leather jacket and lightens it up by introducing a pair of angel wings stemming for the back. A leopard print jersey is ripped from behind as if a paw-strike just barely missed the flesh, while panda tracks are everywhere from oversized pullovers to big and fluffy panda high-top sneakers.
A key piece of the collection is the Torero Jacket, which replaces the classic track jacket, combined with the matching embroidered trousers. This is a Jerome Scott track suit embellished with oversized shoulder pads, sequins and tassels that could rival any shining celebrated matador in Spain.

You can find all of the pieces at Adidas Originals stores.
