The Hetty Rose footwear label designs and makes shoes and each pair is created to exactly fit the client. Availing of this service may help overcome the dual pleasure-pain sensation that comes when first wearing a new pair of shoes.

Designed by young designer Henrietta Rose Samuels, the collection of brightly colored footwear is covered whole or in part with vintage material, mostly Japanese kimono fabrics. Clients can play Cinderella and have a pair of shoes made to fit their individual feet perfectly.

The first step is to specify which shoe style is preferred and then choose from the range of antique fabrics on offer. The designer measures every possible part of the client’s feet and after a number of fittings a pair of shoes cut exactly for the client’s specifications are created.

Along with shoes the designer has a small range of handbags, also part of the Kimono collection, and has undertaken collaborations with hat and wig designers. If you can’t afford to buy a pair of custom-made shoes just yet, you can at least look at them longingly as they feature in the book ‘I Just Love That Shoe’. Maybe we would all just love our new shoes a little more if they were custom-made to fit perfectly.
