Carine Roitfeld’s Irreverent
According to Webster’s Dictionary, irreverent is characterized by a lightly pert and exuberant quality, words which aptly describe the sublime Carine Roitfeld. Her new book, a 368 page photo album spanning over 30 years of her career in the fashion industry, will debut this mid October.
In it, Roitfeld shares her most memorable moments and provocative shoots that introduced a completely new genre of shocking magazine covers and stimulating content. An example of this was her 1997 shoot of Eva Herzigova posing with a bloody boeuf for The Face magazine.
Readers will also get to see a more intimate side of Roitfeld has she shares personal pictures of her partner, Christian Restoin and their equally admirable children, Julia and Vladimir.
Karl Lagerfeld once described Roitfeld as the ideal French woman, while Anna Wintour went further in stating that “her vision of French Vogue, embodies all that the world likes to think of as Parisian style: a sense of chic that’s impeccable and sometimes idiosyncratic and which forever lives on a moonlit street as seen through the lens of Helmut Newton.”
The book is a must-have for anyone serious about fashion to learn about one of the cutting-edge forces that has helped shape the industry for over three decades.
