Karim Rashid’s Facet Bowl

Karim Rashid’s Facet Bowl

Industrial designer Karim Rashid just added a new piece to his collection of over 2,000 designs. His current piece entitled Urban Facet Bowl, pictured above, was created by the Paris-based manufacture Christofle, best known for their sterling, silver plate and stainless flatware.

It is a simple yet elegant silver bowl, reminiscent of Noah’s arc albeit with fine lines and a contemporary flare. We like it.

The Cairo born designer Rashid, who is now based in New York, has won numerous awards for his designs, over 9 this year alone including the Actualidad Económica award for Best Ideas of the Year presented by Veuve Clicquot Globalight.

Rashid’s work can be found throughout the world, particularly in the permanent collections of 14 museums, including New York’s MoMa and Paris’ Centre Pompidou. He is also the architect behind the Morimoto restaurant in Philadelphia and the Semiramis hotel in Athens.

What can possibly be next from the innumerable talents of Karim Rashid.
