Rose Bakery Going Green, Paris

Rose Bakery Going Green, Paris

Lagging behind its European neighbors, the organic-foods fever has yet to truly take off in Paris. Businesses, however, are slowly starting to turn green as the public becomes more aware of their role and power as consumers.

Already established as a local favorite in the 9th arrondissement, Rose Bakery has successfully opened its second venue in the popular Marais district. It is inspired by the burgeoning trend of all-round-cafés from London and provides a healthier alternative to trendy restaurants.

Not only is Rose Bakery a restaurant, but it also has a take-away food section, shelves stacked with imported teas and goods from Britain, a fruit market, and home-made desserts.

Rose Bakery provides to socially responsible and ecologically aware customers. Famous for its lunches and Sunday brunches, it is also possible to find your favorite organic fruits, juices, herbal teas, and, of course, a variety of specialty desserts.

Line-ups on Sundays are not uncommon and you would be considered lucky to still get your hands on a cone of carrot-cake late in the afternoon.

The success of Rose Bakery reveals a current trend in today’s economy: that going green pays off.

Find the original Rose Bakery at 46, Rue Martyrs, 75009 Paris, and the latest one at 30, Rue Debelleyme, 75003.
