Mr., Kaikai Kiki Group
Mr., a protégé of Takashi Murakami and member of the Kaikai Kiki Co., will conduct a solo exhibition at the Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin-Paris this October.
Mr.’s art pieces are a compilation of drawings and paintings, and large sculptures.
His work is largely a Japanese anime-inspired collection of colorful large-eyed creatures, characters, and flat color fields reminiscent of children’s cartoons.
Much like his acclaimed mentor, Mr.’s work challenges our understanding of high art, history, and popular culture.
His exhibition in Paris follows immediately after the group-exhibition entitled “Krazy! The Delirious World of Anime + Comics + Videos Games + Art,” at the Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver, Canada.
