Federico Fellini, Paris

The enormous challenge of putting together a comprehensive exhibition of one of cinema’s most influential and widely revered filmmakers fell to the Curator Sam Stourdzé for the Jeu de Paume Gallery, in Paris.

The exhibition of Federico Fellini’s work will run from October 20 to January 17, 2010. The gallery’s goal is to offer the public an insight to Fellini’s creative mechanisms through photographs, drawings, original film posters, magazines, and of course film.

Below is an excerpt from the organizers:

To attempt to put on a Fellini exhibition means to go back to the sources of Fellini’s art and studying and revealing its processes of transformation, alteration, borrowing and accumulation. The result is a set of strata combining film elements, photographic documents, magazine presentations of the event, TV images and works by artists.

This exhibition is resolutely multidisciplinary. It sets out to offer a new grid for reading Fellini’s films.
