Daniel Arsham, Gallery Emmanuel Perrotin

American artist Daniel Arsham will be back to the Emmanuel Perrotin Gallery, in Paris, starting this March until May, 2010. Daniel’s new work will be in exhibition at the gallery where he launched his first solo international presentation. Known for combining and flipping natural entities with architectural structures, you should expect a mixture of plant, trees, and other living objects with concrete and steel.

The relationship between the artist and the gallery dates back to 2004, when Daniel participated in the group show “Miami Nice.” Emmanuel Perrotin was at the forefront just when international galleries were beginning to take interest in Miami’s cultural movement. The relationship has flourished ever since. Last year, the gallery published Daniel’s first monograph.

Daniel wowed audience in 2007 with his exhibition entitled the “Hammock,” an EPS foam, plaster sculpture of a human figure suspended from the roof, measuring at 45.25 in x 9.10 ft x 67 in. It gave a feeling of a person falling from above, quickly captured by a hammock, and frozen in time. It was an unprecedented piece, which gave the artist a lot of buzz, both at home and abroad.

We anxiously wait to see what new drama Daniel’s work will bring this March.
