The Pushkin Museum of Private Collections in Moscow will display over 50 of Alberto Giacometti’s works, through November 2008.

The exhibition titled “Alberto Giacometti, Painting, Drawing, Sculpture” will include his well known bronze sculptures like the “Man Crossing a Square” (pictured above) and “Spoon Woman,” an abstract figure of a woman’s torso in the shape of a large spoon.

While Mr. Giacometti’s sculptures are grim and awkwardly molded, they convey a sense of drama and tragedy expressing the mood in Europe post World War II.

Struggling with stomach cancer, Mr. Giacometti died in 1966.
